Is your life set?

"Mera to itna life kharab ho gaya, itna life kharab ho gaya mera....", I heard Kangana's dialogue from the movie, 'Queen'. She went on a honeymoon all by herself. And here I was, who had never been even on a solo trip.

"Ah!", I sighed. And Mr.Hubby gave me weird looks. "Tumhari life to ekdum set hai. Why are you sighing?", he said.

And this took me into a trance....pondering over his statement, "Kya meri life set hai?".

How do you know that your life is set? Do you all know how to measure success? Are you happy in your life? And what are the parameters?

Sorry, sorry! I am bombarding you all with these questions back to back. But how many of you have sat down and given it a thought, about where you are heading in life and are you satisfied?

I got a forward on WhatsApp the other day. In the video, the influencer was suggesting that if you've these 6 things in life then you are doing fine -

A roof on your head,

Food in your plate,

Family

Water to drink

Clean clothes to wear

8 hours of sleep

Well, are these parameters of happiness? Is this really enough? Yes, I mean these are the basic necessities and we should be thankful for having them. But shouldn't we put some more effort to achieve something in life.

Some accomplishment that makes you stand out as a woman, makes you feel worth of living as a human.

You may be happy being a mom. Cooking kid's favourite dishes, that's what you look forward for. Making sure your children are studying well, helping them with their projects, running up and down with them for all their activities. This may be your life's goal and why not! It's fine as long as it makes you happy.

You may be happy being a dedicated wife. Doing all the household chores. Taking care of your husband, ironing his clothes, keeping all the things he needs upto date and ready for him to use. If this suits you, why not!

You may be happy being a daughter. Going out of the way to do anything and everything for your parents. Be it helping out financially or physically or mentally. If you feel a sense of achievement with this, sure, go ahead!

But as a woman, is that all you can do? Why can't we attain things just being us, on our own? Why do we always want a relation to prove ourselves?

"Can I get a cup of coffee?", asked Mr.Hubby. I snapped out of the trance. We both had coffee and I got energised. "I am going on a solo trip", I announced. "I don't want to get set just like that. I want to explore ", I declare.

And I heard a giggle and a murmur, "Mera to itna life kharab ho jayega.....!". And I winked and said...."Lekin aap toh set ho".
